Terms of Service

Last updated: June 15, 2026. These terms describe the planned rules for using Tattle Timer.

Review status: Draft terms prepared for coordinator and legal review before production launch or provider submission.

The service

Tattle Timer helps adults create accountability deadlines. A user sets a commitment, chooses proof, invites trusted Accountabilibuddies, and arms a consequence. If the user misses a deadline, Tattle Timer may notify selected Accountabilibuddies using consented channels where enabled.

Tattle Timer is not an emergency service, therapy service, medical/legal/financial advisor, debt collector, workplace reporting system, or crisis support service.

Eligibility

Users and Accountabilibuddies must be 18 or older. Phone/SMS/voice V1 is US-first and may be unavailable outside supported regions or before provider approval is active.

Commitments and Accountabilibuddies

Users are responsible for the commitments they create and the people they invite. Accountabilibuddies control whether they accept the role, which endpoints they verify, which channels they allow, and whether they pause, revoke, block, or report a user.

Opening an invite link alone does not grant consent. The contact must take deliberate consent and verification steps before external delivery can occur.

Email, SMS, and voice communications

Tattle Timer may send accountability communications only after consent, verification, safety checks, and provider enablement. SMS recipients can reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. Voice recipients can opt out during calls where supported, including Press 9.

Voice features, where enabled, may use prerecorded or AI-generated audio and may offer intentional short voice-note recording after a recording prompt. Tattle Timer does not support live AI calls in V1.

Acceptable use

You may not use Tattle Timer for anonymous messaging, prank calls, harassment, stalking, threats, blackmail, coercive control, protected-class attacks, sexual humiliation, doxxing, exposing secrets or credentials, illegal facilitation, self-harm or crisis flows, or messaging minors.

Commitment text and proof may be moderated, sanitized, blocked, downgraded, or refused before external delivery if safety, consent, provider, or legal constraints require it.

Subscriptions and billing

Tattle Timer is planned as a paid iOS subscription product. External sends require active backend entitlement at send time. Apple subscription billing, cancellation, refunds, and account-level billing controls are managed through Apple where applicable.

Account deletion stops Tattle Timer service but does not automatically cancel Apple-managed subscription billing. See Account Deletion.

Proof and media

Proof photos and generated or recorded audio are private by default. Tattle Timer should not publish proof media or contact data by default. User-initiated shareable artifacts, if enabled, must be sanitized and limited.

Changes

These terms may be updated before launch and over time. Material changes may require updated consent, especially for Accountabilibuddy communication preferences or sensitive categories.
