Data we collect
Tattle Timer is an accountability app for adults. Depending on how the service is used, we may process user account details, Sign in with Apple identifiers, subscription status, commitment titles and deadlines, selected proof settings, delivery preferences, and support requests.
For Accountabilibuddies, we may process display names, verified email addresses or phone numbers, consent choices, channel preferences, quiet windows, opt-out status, abuse reports, and consent evidence such as copy version, timestamp, IP address, and user agent where appropriate.
How we use data
We use data to operate commitments, verify consent, enforce eligibility and subscription rules, render safe accountability messages, provide support, prevent abuse, maintain delivery logs, and comply with provider, platform, and legal obligations.
We do not sell personal data. We do not share SMS opt-in data or consent records with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
Accountabilibuddy consent
No Tattle Timer email, SMS, or voice tattle should be sent to a contact unless that contact accepted an invite, confirmed they are 18 or older, entered and verified their own endpoint, and chose the allowed channels and preferences for that relationship.
Relationship consent is not global consent. An Accountabilibuddy can pause, revoke, block, report abuse, or update preferences for a specific user relationship.
Messaging and providers
Tattle Timer may use service providers for email, SMS, voice, app infrastructure, storage, analytics needed to operate the service, and support. SMS and voice are used only where enabled, approved by the relevant provider, and allowed by the contact's consent and preferences.
SMS recipients can reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. Voice recipients can opt out during calls where enabled, including Press 9 where supported. See the SMS Terms and Messaging Policy for more detail.
Proof media and retention
Proof photos, receipt screenshots, generated call audio, voicemail audio, contact recordings, transcripts, and receipt media are private by default. Tattle Timer should not include proof photos in SMS, voice, email, or public receipts by default.
Production media storage should use private objects, authenticated access, short-lived signed URLs or scoped proxy routes, and retention/deletion rules. Current planning uses a 90-day default retention posture for proof photos, generated tattle audio, voicemail audio, contact recordings, and transcripts unless a user deliberately saves an allowed receipt or a legal/operational obligation requires longer retention.
Choices, deletion, and opt-out
Users can request account deletion. Deletion should stop Tattle Timer service, stop pending external sends, revoke local sessions, and delete or anonymize account data according to retention rules. Apple subscription billing is managed by Apple and may need to be cancelled separately.
Contacts can opt out through SMS STOP, voice opt-out, manage-preferences links, or support. See Contact and Opt-out Help for the fastest route.
Children
Tattle Timer is for adults only. Users and Accountabilibuddies must be 18 or older. The service is not directed to minors.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and operational safeguards appropriate for a consent-based accountability product. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, but Tattle Timer is designed to avoid public proof URLs, unconsented delivery, and secrets in public logs or pages.
